Important: Routine breast screening
The service delivers the NHS Breast Screening Programme for Warrington, Halton, St Helens, Knowsley and for patients registered with a small number of practices in Cheshire West and Chester.
Anyone registered with a GP as female will be invited for NHS breast screening every three years between the ages of 50 and 71. It is also for some trans or non-binary people. You'll get a letter in the post inviting you.
If you are aged 71 or over, we do not automatically invite you for breast screening. However, you do have the right to free screening every three years if you ask. All you need to do is phone your local breast screening unit to make an appointment.
In between screening appointments please continue to check your breasts / chest regularly. If you notice any changes or have concerns, please contact your GP as soon as possible.
